Abstract

A finales del siglo XVII, Marco Corsiglia fue contratado por el Consell de la ciudad de Valencia para reconstruir el muelle de piedra que había iniciado en 1686 Tomás Güelda, unos metros al norte del emplazamiento tradicional del puente de madera medieval. La propuesta de Corsiglia fue doble: reconstruir el muelle de Güelda o construir uno nuevo y de obra sobre el antiguo medieval de madera. Gracias al proyecto de Corsiglia y al plano que lo acompaña, podemos conocer aspectos muy interesantes del entorno físico y humano del Grau y proponer una hipótesis sobre la evolución de la línea de costa en aquella época.
