Abstract

Reid has a similar position to that of Phenix (1964). Each work of art has an original meaning that can be experienced only through direct involvement with it. Reid (1980) refers to this artistic meaning as "embodied meaning": "... we know art not through symbols that allude to anything else but through a direct encounter with meaning cognitively meaning" an incorporated meaning. " Is a unique way of knowing, and anyone who does not experience this form of knowledge has lost an important factor in his education as a human being "(p.14).
