Resum: The present paper analyses the production of novéis, short stories and tales of the so-called social or historical realism. After surveying the latest analytical views of its twin Spanish movement, this paper comes to a definition of the so often debated objectivism, aware of the difficulties involved, and proposes a model of story-telling the neo-realistic and of the social realism. Then it studies the authors and works separately in each category. Finally it concludes with an assessment, defends the suitability of a distinction of two trends: neo-realism and the social realism; and points to peculiarities with regard the Spanish counterparts.
