Between the end of the fifteenth and the beginning of the sixteenth centuries, when the contact between Thailand and Spain did not exist, two of the most important literary works in the history of literature in the respective countries appeared: Lilit Pralor and La Celestina. Coming from totally different social contexts and literary traditions, these works present a parallel in the treatment of the history of fool-illicit love achieved through the use of magic, which drags the main characters to a tragic end. These two books, thus, surprisingly share the important plot elements which, at the same time, reveal the universality and singularity of literary and cultural aspects of Thailand and Spain.
