Linguistic borrowing: One of the main processes of the creation of neologisms

Abstract
In the present article we aim to show that linguistic borrowing is one of the main processes in the creation of neologisms now and in the past. Borrowings have always been present in languages, despite the logical reticencies due to the impoverishment and relegation of the native lexis. Proof for this is their featuring in Sebastián de Covarrubias's "Tesoro de la Lengua Castellana o Española", the first monolingual dictionary of Spanish.
