Errores discursivos y estilísticos en la expresión escrita: categorización y valoración

Abstract

From a perception of writing as a process, this paper focuses on the textual revision process. The author proposes a taxonomy of common errors detected in the written expression of young writers. It aims to overcome the lack of completeness and categorial consistency detected in the existing taxonomies. He works with a corpus of over 250 different texts and 3,200 pieces of error produced by over 175 different authors. The proposed classification is organized into four sections: discursive errors, style and register errors, lexical and semantic errors, and morphosyntactic errors. The final taxonomy includes 29 different categories. Secondly a detailed study of discursive nature errors and style and register errors is carried out. They represent 51% of those included in the corpus. Discursive errors were divided into conceptual coherence errors, structural coherence errors and extratextual coherence errors. The errors of style are classified as relevant or irrelevant with regard to the accurate use of language. The paper ends with a reflection on the organization of the training process of students with regard to the revision of texts.
