Celebrating the hundred years of Les aventures extraordinàries d’en Massagran illustrates the power of humour to encourage reading. Humour is a resource for the perception of reality that allows people to take part in and enjoy their own cultural tradition in order to face the challenges posed by the 21st century. This research studies the expression and the contents of humour in literature for children written in Catalan as the original language and published between 2005 and 2010. The research includes the comparative analysis of 100 works.
