Abstract

Educational institutions in general and higher education in particular have difficulty in assimilating two converging processes: the constructivist deconstruction of learning, which places education in the field of uncertainty, and the proliferation of screens in front of which stands the academic distrust. The article proposes not to dilute the concept of competence, which increases its prospects and is articulated with a hermeneutic expansion of emotional and cognitive potential of visual narratives. A current focus of written communication cannot ignore the presence of the visual image, shown in its narrative style not as an opponent to traditional written communication, but as complementary. In addition, it is a more affordable path for students who have skills in the understanding of sophisticated audiovisual products but lack them when it comes to traditional print media.
