The basic aim of this article is to research the use of words of foreign origin in Valencian newspapers. The objective of this research is to inform about local journalists’ favourite expressions. Firstly, we will deal with words adapted to spanish spelling and grammar rules, secondly, we will study vocabulary that has not been adapted and journalists’ personal preferences. We will compare the forms chosen in various local newspapers and observe the differences between them.
