Abstract

This paper offers an analysis of three recent approaches that discuss and reformulate the liberal conception of autonomy: relational autonomy, non-sovereign agency, and theories that emphasize human vulnerability. It presents some of their common trends, the differences between this new reconceptualizations and the discussions of the 80s, the main points of the critique, and the practical implications of each approach.
