Historias científicas desde un prisma cultural: El marco cultural de la narración en las ciencias naturales y sociales

Resumen

La narración es un elemento fundamental para la comunicación eficaz de la ciencia en los vídeos en línea. Sin embargo, su efecto no es el mismo en todas las culturas. En este artículo repasamos y examinamos el marco cultural en las narraciones utilizadas para comunicar la ciencia (incluyendo las ciencias sociales) en vídeos educativos en línea. Hemos detectado que los estudiantes de culturas de alto contexto muestran más interés por los vídeos en línea que los estudiantes de culturas de bajo contexto; sin embargo, obtienen peores resultados en las pruebas que miden los conocimientos obtenidos. Nuestras conclusiones ponen de relieve que es necesario tener en cuenta el marco cultural de la narración –la comunicación cultural de la ciencia– a la hora de comunicar la ciencia a públicos de diferentes culturas.
