The concept of emergency is essential in a time marked by a new communication paradigm. As we live at the rhythm of the information transmitted through internet and mobile phones, emergency has become a political argument to denounce ecological, social and economic catastrophes, as well as a temporality that justifies the news agenda. In this context audiovisual devices have become tools of political resistance against the power of big media. This essay analyses the terms of communicational and political emergency. It will focuses on a series of audiovisual projects conceived for internet, which function as tools of political denunciation and civil disobedience. What idea of urgency do they put in practice?
