Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a sort of reagent (in the photographic sense) that, from a communication point of view, has positivized the image of a viral nature that is not that of the coronavirus, but that of the Internet and the digital media system itself.

Author Biography

Pilar Carrera, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid

Pilar Carrera is Professor of Communication at the University Carlos III of Madrid, where she is also Vice-President for Communication and Culture, director of the Master’s Degree in Documentary and Transmedia Journalism Report, in collaboration with RTVE and the Master’s Degree in News Agency Journalism, in collaboration with EFE. She has been visiting researcher at Harvard and Yale Universities and at the London School of Economics. She has authored, among other books, Nosotros y los medios. Prolegómenos para una Teoría de la Comunicación, El irresistible encanto de la interioridad, Las moradas de Walter Benjamin, Michael Cimino, El relato audiovisual.
