Abstract

Jovellanos wrote his Diary for almost twenty years. The task began with the chronological and aseptic recording of the author’s daily life and progressed towards scenarios of major intimacy. The current article tries to illustrate this modality of the diary that portrays the conscience of the feeling of individuality, typical of modern times. Even though this diary doesn’t dare to reveal the intimacy of its author in an explicit way, it might help us to trace the biography of Jovellanos.
