Abstract

This essay offers an overview of the theme of emigration in German theatre and its presence on other specialized media. On the one hand, it presents projects about and with emigrants, such as Das Deutsch Griechische Theater, Eva Brenner’s Die Fleischerei and Rimini Protokoll (Helgard Haug, Stefan Kaegi and Daniel Wetzel). On the other, it studies some texts written by authors with migration backgrounds whose dramatic texts have been staged: Emine Sevgi Özdamar, Feridun Zaimoglu & Günter Senkel Nuran David Calis, Yoko Tawada, and Sabine Wen-Ching Wang.
