The current study is based on two relevant texts for the reconstruction of what happened in the concentration camp of Los almendros: Campo de los almendros of Max Aub (1968), and Desde la noche y la niebla of Juana Doña (1978). These works help us to study the characteristics of the concentration camp, some of them are common to other fields and the others are specific of Alicante context. Also, we will work on the connection between writing and historic memory.
Keywords: Los almendros concentration camp; Port of Alicante; Historical Memory; Max Aub; Juana Doña.
