Abstract

The presence of young Rodrigo in the Italian opera houses over the 18th century offers different and interesting study possibilities. However, this article fixes its gaze on the first appearance of Guillem de Castro's materials in the Italian states, within a libretto by the Venetian poet Matteo Noris, released in 1681 or 1682, which is not about this Hispanic hero.
