The fiction, the imposture and the “anxious aspiration to justice”: Sciascia and the cinema

Many of Sciascia’s books have been used by directors and screenwriters to make successful films. In the translation from the novel to the cinema many changes have been made. But the controversial essence of the Sicilian writer's fiction has remained intact. Thus the theme of imposture, fundamental in many stories Sciascia’s, is also the Leitmotiv for cinema inspired by the work of the Sicilian writer.
