Gillo Pontecorvo's anomaly

Gillo Pontecorvo, a director for which every project is like a new blank sheet start. His unusual professional background, compared with the most part of directors educated in Neorealism and established in the postwar period. The slender critical attention received in Italy. His cross-referred filmography, where he explores historical, geographical and anthropological landscapes that are widely distant, giving rise to an authentic “cinema of nations”. Biographical notes, with a specific focus on those projects finally not achieved.Downloads
