Abstract

Pontecorvo’s last works, after the dismissal from cinema made for theatres, occurred with Ogro. A series of documentaries, most of all collective works, with a political and militant dimension, except the short movie Nostalgia di protezione. The success of Un altro mondo è possibile, the 2001 Genoa’s G8 summit film. The definitive farewell and the symbolic handover with Gillo’s son, Marco. Does a Pontecorvo’s “cinematic legacy” exist? The influence on contemporary American cinema, from New Hollywood on, e some misunderstanding. A few possible “heirs”, in Italy and abroad.

Sergio Di Lino, Roma

Sergio Di Lino, dottore di ricerca in discipline cinematografiche presso l’Università degli Studi Roma 3, è stato per tredici anni direttore della testata online CinemAvvenire.it e attualmente è responsabile delle attività cinematografiche dell’Associazione Centro Internazionale CinemAvvenire e Direttore del CinemAvvenire Film Festival. Responsabile e organizzatore di numerose rassegne a carattere cinematografico, è stato per quattro anni vicedirettore dell’Asian Film Festival. Collabora con la testata HKX.it ed è autore di numerosi saggi sul cinema apparsi su riviste specializzate o in volumi collettanei.
