Francoist editorial censorship prohibited the literary representation of conflicting realities and processes that compromised the public image of the regime, such as the story of the main character who returns to his village after being exiled in other places, or after having been in prison, and finds with "the localist and rancorous lack of solidarity" of his neighbors, as the censors wrote. It is convenient to recover the censored literary memory of characters that represent realities such as those found in four novels from the invisible catalog of the editor Carlos Barral: Estos son tus hermanos, Al regreso del Boiras, Crónica de un regreso and La tierra prometida.
