Unfolding occupational boundary work: Public service interpreting in social services for structurally vulnerable migrant populations in Finland

Resum
Aquest article explora les fronteres entre les professions en el context de la interpretació en els serveis públics amb poblacions migrants estructuralment vulnerables, plantejant preguntes sobre quin tipus de coneixement es valora i quin tipus de jerarquies interseccionals es generen dins un paisatge de serveis socials en transformació . Partint de la conceptualització de les fronteres interprofessionals i del desconeixement/reconeixement professional, analitzem els diaris escrits i orals produïts per intèrprets en serveis públics durant la primavera del 2022. Les persones que van participar en la recerca són de diversos orígens professionals i ètnics i resideixen a diferents regions urbanes i rurals de Finlàndia. Mostrem que la manca de reconeixement professional, tant a nivell estructural com a nivell de la interacció, repercuteix en les possibilitats de conducta professional i ètica d'intèrprets en serveis públics. En última instància afecta també el dret a un tracte just i igualitari de les persones usuàries de serveis que es troben en situacions estructuralment vulnerables i que depenen dels serveis socials mediats per intèrprets.
