Abstract

This dossier proposes a reflection on the literary translation practice that focuses its interest in the figure of the translator, usually forgotten by a theory of translation based mainly on the evaluation of products or translated texts. Involved here are experiential aspects of the practice of translation, aspects related to motivation and the ultimate goal of this activity, and everything concerning the exercise of plural responsibility and self-esteem of the translator, whose work generates an incalculable (social, cultural or economic) added value. Paradoxical and contradictory aspects of translation are also present in the texts that follow.
